Anti-anxiety day

I'm home from work today- it's an anxiety prevention strategy. I've been going non-stop for 14 days and my body is feeling it. Had a significant panic attack last night and thought I'd take today to chill out. It seems to be working.

MS&W pictures:

It is taking everything in me not to post a big disclaimer about my appearance. I am resisting though. This was such a great moment and next year, we're definitely hanging out at the fest. A few minutes in line was so not enough!

That's Jody in the back left- wearing the visor. Isn't she the cutest little thing?!

Stella's fried twinkie:

I did not partake in this famous MS&W treat. I don't eat twinkies. I have a weird thing about white creamy food. I don't eat marshmallows, cool whip, whipped cream, marshmallow fluff, any cream filling. Just a weird thing.

Yarn I bought:

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in color 403 Tuscany:

Tess' Designer Yarns, Super Socks- 450 yards, 80% wool, 20% nylon, hand-dyed:

I can see myself developing a serious sock stash issue. I was drawn to so many sock yarns at MS&W. It was just amazing to see all of the uniquely dyed yarn. It really was a great day.

And Silver Spring Looms hand dyed yarn- 55% mohair, 45% wool, 490 yards for a feather and fan scarf from Wendy's free pattern. Alison made one of these and hers is awesome. Go see it!

Browsing at MS&W really showed me the kinds of colors that appeal to me. I knew I was going to love looking at sock yarn and that I wanted to look for small vendors with unique colors but I didn't realize how drawn I am to bold colors, lots of variation, and green. I really love green!

It's taking everything in me not to start balling this yarn but I have so many things to do before I get to these. On the needles: Bay tank, Vogue Cami, Broadripple sock #2 and critter knitter blanket. So many projects!

You have to go check out MS&W bingo. Evidently, my green backpack with Rainbow Chills button got me spotted. And Stella was wearing her Yarn Ho t-shirt so it looks like some folks spotted her too!

Gay day:
I was going to post pictures from SundayOUT yesterday but Michelle has done it and written a great post about the day. If you want to see a cute picture of me and a stuffed monkey, head on over!

Nice post hotpants, you better be relaxing today!

I love how you downplay the absolute weirdness of your white fluffy issue. It is not just a "weird thing", you gag at the site of anything white and fluffy. I am surprised you could look at those weirdo angora bunnies! Someday we'll get to the bottom of your white fluffy trauma...

You are super cute in the pic with the stuffed monkey, I love love love it!!! Couldn't resist posting it. And I love the pic of us with our hearts on our backs (even if I do look like a patient recently released from the mental ward.) I wish I had a better overall picture of the event, I need to take more pictures...

Oh I love Greta's shirt a la Rachel. It is so cute.

gee, *thanks* christy for pointing out that's me....just when i thought i got off scott-free ;)

I love the yarn you got! Great choices.
Take it easy today. I was wondering how you were doing after all the travelling, etc. of the past few weeks. Enjoy your day off.

I hopped over to Michelle's blog (which looks great, btw), and love the pictures she posted. I'm glad that you both had a wonderful experience. And I think she looks adorable- not at all like a "recently released patient from a mental ward".

mmmmm...twinkies!!

Can you email me the 2 pics of the twinks you took? THANKS!

PS- Ken has a weird thing with white creamy things, too!! no sour cream, no cool whip, no white icing... He won't even eat alfredo sauce!!interesting...

The yarn you bought will make a *beautiful* feather and fan scarf! It's funny that you bought the LL in Tuscany for socks -- that the colourway of my feather & fan. Scrumptious, isn't it? I'm glad (jealous, but glad) that you had a good time!

My father-in-law decided when he was about 70 that "white sauce" is unhealthy, and he won't eat it. Anything from mayonnaise to alfredo. I'm with you on the Twinkies, though; I won't eat anything resembling whipped cream. Yuck!

How fun to see your stash. You can never have too much sock yarn. Wish I had been there!!
