Five reasons to marry a woman
1. Baking
We have no food in our house. Still have not food shopped since getting back from vacation. When I got home from work yesterday though, there was a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies cooling on the counter. We keep baking supplies in at all times!
2. Double wardrobe
Now that Michelle and I are nearly the same size (she has lost 85 lbs while I have held steady at 20 lbs overweight) I have more options than ever when I get dressed in the morning. Only the shirt and shoes I am wearing today were originally bought for me. Everything else was bought for Michelle or for sharing. And yes, I mean everything.
3. Same taste in movies
My sister often complains that she and her husband can't agree on movies. Michelle and I almost always want to see the same films. This came in handy yesterday when we selected five movies to see over the next 10 days at the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. I'm going to buy tickets on my lunch today.
4. Yarn support
While Michelle does not have the same passion for knitting that I do, she often does help me pick out yarn, requests hand knitted gifts, and cleans household things out of baskets so that I have more yarn storage space. I love my enabler!
5. Craftiness
When I complained that I needed to new bag to carry to work, Michelle remembered that I wanted to shop at Viv Pickle and took me there for my birthday.
This was the result:
When I complained that everything would get lost in the bottom of the bag and expressed interest in spending nearly thirty dollars on a Purseket, Michelle offered to make one for me. When I came home from work yesterday with $4.70 worth of fabric remnants (3 yards worth which is enough to make a zillion pursekets) she got right to work.
Now I have this:

It holds my cell phone, palm pilot, glasses case, check book, and pens. My book, umbrella and knitting sit in the center of the bag while the pockets wrap around the inside lining. There's a patterned pocket sewn into the bag that holds my keys, business card case containing id and essential cards, and my lip stick and chap stick. I am so set!
So there you go! Five reasons to marry a woman (which, happily, is not constitutionally forbidden if still illegal in most states if you also happen to be a woman)! Your milage may vary. I can practically guarantee that you won't find one as great as mine!
Have a great weekend!

I LOVE your Viv Pickle bag. It's great! Especially that cute little pickle at the top.
You are a very lucky girl. You two seem to have a very special marriage- a marriage that should definitely be legal in ALL states.
Enjoy your weekend :)

You lucky dog! I've often thought that lesbians have it good--well except for that nasty, way, WAY uncool discrimination problem. On the bright side though, you don't have to endure the freakin' tremendous pressure of throwing a wedding that traditional brides go through where they transform into Bridezilla. I want to be a lesbian!
But seriously, all the things you outlined: having the same interests, sharing clothes, etc. SO FUN. Men are just so different from women. I bet the toliet seat has never been left up in your apartment. I, on the other hand, if I have to watch Spiderman MORE ONE TIME I'm going to scream!

Thanks for being sweet. It is my pleasure to do all those things for and with you, but you already know that! Sometimes I feel sad that I can't knit you things in the way that you are constantly providing me with fantastic knitted gifts, but when I read this post I realized that I give to you like you give to me, just in different ways.
Kisses.

I don't know what was sweeter, your entry or Michelle's comments!!!! Do you know where I can trade my husband in for a wife??

I love your list, and I must say that you and Michelle seem to be one of the happiest couples I've come across. :)
(But she's tall! Does she wear your long pants as capris? Hee.)

You girls are the cutest. I need to find a man as good as Michelle haha! Or I could just be gay...either or. Could you see my boy crazy self as a lesbian? Haha, my friend Amanda told me I'm not welcome in the gay community haha. Anywho...you guys are the cutest. I am totally coming to stay when Mom and Dad go on their cruise...we are gonna have some good talks....I already have discussion topics planned...hehe.

i think my husband is a woman!
but seriously, excepting the baking part (boy couldn't bake if you spread toll house cookies on a cookie sheet for him), he's a good man.
it's nice reading about other couples (of whatever sort) that share that special love bond!!!
