What I did on my end of summer vacation:
Knitted this:

(it's the Columbine Peaks sock from Cat Bordi's Socks Soar on Two Circs booklet. I used Lorna's Laces and size 2 inox circs)
Watched the Phillies lose to the Braves
Went to the playground with my sister and my nephew
Decorated bulletin boards in my mom's pre-K classroom
Met with my financial advisor and didn't hit him when he chuckled at my profession of being a knitter
Received a Random Act of Knitting Kindness from Kate. Thanks Kate!
Found out my friend has MS
Congratulated self for teaching said friend to knit over the past few weeks- now she has something to do while she sits at home trying to recover from 5 days of incredibly tough steroid treatments
Read this great post where Michelle reflects on life with rheumatoid arthritis
Ate hot dogs
Downloaded Firefox Mozilla and rejoiced in its speed
Wondered why anyone would start smoking when the research is so clear that it causes cancer
Slept with the windows open and enjoyed the fall-like breezes
Knitted with Jody, Stella, Heather and Danielle while eating fondue and watching Willy Wonka
Enjoyed Dooce's redesign
Overall, it was a very good, restful six days.
Now, back to life.

ahhh your a sweetie for doing your moms classroom boards. My sister is a teacher and I know how much a teacher does so I am sure your mom appreciated it. : )

Sounds like an amazingly busy vacation/break! Glad it was restful. The sock turned out super. Love the color. I've been thinking about trying Firefox Mozilla myself. By the way - got your msg about the dollhouse and just haven't responded. It's finally DONE. I'm hoping to post photos soon (maybe today) and will drop you a note.

Sounds like a very productive, busy break. I did a few of the things you did as well. I downloaded Mozilla--can't really tell a difference though, can you?
I didn't know your mom is a pre-K teacher. Alec had his first day today, and did surprisingly well. 13 boys & 2 girls in his class.
