16 days

After a year of count down emails from Jody (she starts counting down the minute we get home), it's only 16 days until MS&W.

Earlier this week, I told Jody that she should wear her Somewhat Cowl to the fest (she says it will be too warm). Since then, I decided that I should make something to wear to the fest. It's in 16 days, you say? I know. I also plan to finish two other projects before that one. Am I insane? Why, yes, I am.

I need to knit about four more inches on the SockapalOOOza sock (#2). I should be able to finish it today if I focus. Knitting time has been limited to lunch hours this week. Tuesday night was therapy (further proof of my insanity) and then watching Gilmore Girls. Last night was a three hour girl talk session with Deirdre at Twenty Manning, watching a Gilmore Girls repeat, and then playing Sudoku (or Harajuku as it is strangely called in our house) online. I have to finish this sock today. That way tomorrow, I can knit the sleeves on the baby dress for the shop, do the button band on Saturday and be done with it. And then it will be all Allegra Twist Front top until Sheep and Wool (the top is from the Vittadini Spring 2005 booklet and is done in the Allegra yarn).

I started this tank at the end of last summer after Craig put all of his Vittadini yarn on discount (fickle man decided not to carry it anymore). I have a few inches of the back completed. I have to pull it out of storage and get knitting again. I think it will look cute with khaki capri pants or jeans for the fest. The yarn is black so even though the top is a little fancy for a Saturday afternoon, it won't show the dust and dirt from the fest.

Why do I do this deadline knitting to myself? Is it just the nature of knitters?

16 days??? For Reals?? Holy crap, I am just realizing this. Now I feel like a child waiting for Christmas, maybe I should make an advent calendar that has yarn hidden behind each day. Now THAT would be cool!
