Technology

When I wonder how much technology is too much technology, I'll remember this week and having to utter these words:

The Roomba ate the Tivo cord.

Specifically, the Roomba ate the cord that lets the Tivo change the channel on the cable box when it's time to record something on a different channel. Without that cord, the Tivo is useless if I'm not at home to change the channel. Which is like having a VCR without the option to set it to record something. Bah! (So Amy, to answer your comment on yesterday's post, no I didn't see my boyfriend Anderson Cooper on Oprah yesterday.)

We've lived like this for two days and I can't stand it anymore. I'm going to RadioShack today to try to get a replacement. If they don't have it (I can't find it on the website), I'm going to have to order it from Tivo's website (it's the IR control cable, $6.99). And then I'm going to have to WAIT for it to come in the MAIL! It's like torture.

Oh, and I forgot to make sure the cable box was on channel 6 this morning so now I have to go home on my lunch to make sure it will Tivo Elie Wiesel on Oprah today. Because I'm not missing that because of the damn Roomba (to which I am, sincerely, grateful  because it means I don't have to vacuum. But seriously, Roomba, did you have to?).
